My Youth
Out of all the stories that I listened to during the course of the semester, one story stuck out to me more than any other. Even though I do not remember the whole story, I remember the gist of the story, which was you're young, do something with it. I have never been one to live my life on the edge, I have always played it safe and never taken any risks. While I believe that I am successful individual so far in life, I believe I would be even more successful and even more happy if I realized that I am young and that I have to take some risks. One risk that I took recently was exercising instead of deciding to attend a social function. By spending the three hours at the gym rather than some stupid party, I got myself in a mood that made me excited to exercise and feel good. More importantly, I broke the norm that I would typically have. I went against what I am accustomed to and took a risk. I could have hurt myself and potentially missed the party of the year. To this day, I am glad that I missed that party to exercise. I feel much better about myself and I have noticed I am sleeping longer and falling asleep quicker as a direct result. I hope that in my life I will continue to take more risks and go against the norm. It has worked for me so far, why not keep trying it?
