contains the qualities of an obvious design. The stumble button has an obvious purpose. It's bright orange and right in the center of the navigation bar, and considering the name of the website is "stumbleupon", it's pretty clear that this is the main feature. Additionally, the stumble button focuses on the activity of "stumbling", and nothing more. The stumble button (exclude the up/down thumbs on the sides) is only one button, and that is all you need to do to get the most out of stumbleupon.com. Additionally, a users perception of "stumbling upon something" is most likely finding something new accidentally/randomly, and that is essentially what the stumble button lets the user do. The button also lets the users become intermediate users fairly quickly, as it's design is simple enough to where users can figure it out and become accustomed quickly. Also, the stumble button encourages users to click it, it stands out amongst the navigation bar and since it's named after the website itself, it seems pretty obvious that you should click the button. Lastly, it makes it simple and neat. It's just one orange button in the middle of a navigation bar, and it is responsible for the users enjoying their experience on stumbleupon.
