Ch. 6: HELP Systems

HELP systems are definitely beneficial, although they tend to be ignored and disregarded by people even when help is needed. This is most likely because HELP systems are not always straight to the point or too broad for certain users. For example, help videos are very helpful to follow along with but if you have a specific question then it's not as efficient to have to wait through the whole video.

In my opinion, HELP systems are still good design because they are great alternatives and resources for users that are learning a broad subject or idea. They are great tools to use when you want to actually learn about a subject rather than quickly looking to a search engine to find specific, shortened answers. Regardless of how obvious a design is or not, nothing is perfect and at some point a user may still need a HELP system as an alternative to use if they struggle with learning the design.

For Project 5, it is important to focus on the fans of a superhero to use as a persona. These fans may most likely be preteens, or kids between the ages of 8 and 15. Focusing on this group would be the best approach to the design we ultimately create because they best understand the mechanical and interactive designs that are used by the superheroes.
