I personally like HELP systems, because they can be designed just as effectively or ineffectively as the application itself. I like to mess with an application and try and break it and when I do I want to know how to fix it myself, and that is where the HELP systems come in. Having a HELP system is never a bad idea but they can be ineffective.
I think that they can work, but they only work as well as they are made, a poorly designed HELP system is worthless, but if the application is not obviously designed then it's just as worthless. I feel like these obvious design concepts are important as Marty mentioned in class that they can be applied to everything in our lives. A bad help system is just poorly designed, it doesn't mean that applications don't need or shouldn't have them.
It doesn't matter how good a design is, a HELP system is always a must. That is because nothing is ever perfect and it's covering all the bases. Good design is getting your users to be intermediate users fast and that means help systems and tutorials, but only until the users doesn't need them anymore. I don't think there is anything that is that intuitive that doesn't need a HELP system.
For project 5 I wanted to create a persona of a married man with a young son, or a young adults in general.
